From the slideshow: Look From Behind, With Feeling
Number 11
This photo is my favorite because it has a more morose take on "Look from Behind, With Feeling", which is the attitude I'd take if I were looking at that title. I also like how the room is pretty much destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, yet there's light pouring in from the open door that produces a gradient of light and dark that highlights the man going outside. The light also seems like "the light at the end of the tunnel"-esque, signifying the return after such a calamity. The photo also complies with the Rule of Thirds. The leading lines of the walls and ceiling also lead the viewer to look at the man in the middle, who's the subject of the photo. It's kind of sad how the ceiling has an ornate chandelier, yet the house has been destroyed and the inhabitants are gone or displaced.
